Run a drop-off or pickup counter
A location can be an independent store that volunteers to hold boxes or receive samples. It can also be the event's own walk-up counter. The organizer adds the site and invites its host; accepting the invitation opens the Location profile for that assigned site. The host does not become event staff or receive organizer access.
Continuous Cup is competition-management software for organizers who need to coordinate entries, judging, and results. Assigned location hosts can record physical handoffs without sharing the organizer's account.
Try the drop-off and pickup location demo. Follow Taylor at Riverside Coffee, an independent store invited by the organizer. The first part follows a new sample through organizer collection. The pickup part uses a kit prepared from a separate, earlier entry. Changes stay in your own demo session.
Receive boxes and samples at the store
- The organizer creates a drop-off, pickup, or combined location and invites the store's operator to that specific site. The operator accepts and checks the address.
- When empty labelled boxes arrive, choose Check out boxes, enter the codes on the delivered boxes, and confirm arrival.
- Find the box by its six-digit code, check the confirmation, and record handout to the entrant. Cancel if it is the wrong box.
- The entrant scans the label and registers or attaches their entry. Handing out an empty box does not register a sample or pay an entry fee.
- When the registered sample returns, choose Check in samples. Scan its label or enter its code and record its arrival at the store.
- When the organizer collects samples, they select the collected codes under that location and confirm collection. The host can see which samples have left the store.
Receive and hand out judging kits
- The organizer prepares assignments and prints a kit label from Distribution. The kit is directed to the judge's selected pickup location.
- When the kit physically arrives, the host chooses Hand out judging kits, finds the judge or kit number, and confirms arrival.
- When the judge comes to collect it, the host checks the recipient and confirms handout. Location arrival, handout, and the judge's own receipt are separate records.
- The judge opens their normal judging profile and confirms receipt of the assigned portions, or scans the kit label to receive them together.
- Return to the location to check the saved handout and receipt status.
Use an onsite counter
An organizer can invite an onsite operator through the same location workflow. For walk-up sample intake, the existing location-bound station link also lets the counter check in samples without sharing the organizer's account. An onsite counter and an independent store remain separate locations.
Recover and replay
If a request fails, keep the code on screen and retry. If a label is already claimed, a kit belongs to someone else, or the location is wrong, check the label or ask the organizer to correct the assignment before recording a handoff. A host cannot switch itself to another store's location. Use the demo banner to return to the guide; Restart location story restores the example and its invitation. Support stays available from each working profile.
Frequently asked questions
Does a location host need organizer access?
No. The organizer invites the host to a specific drop-off or pickup location. Accepting that invitation opens the Location profile for the assigned site without granting organizer access.
Does handing out a box register a competition entry?
No. A box handout records custody of the empty labelled box. The entrant still needs to scan its label, register or attach an entry, and pay any required entry fee.
How is a judge's kit pickup recorded?
The host records the kit's arrival, checks the recipient, and confirms handout. The judge then confirms receipt in their judging profile or by scanning the kit label. Arrival, handout, and judge receipt are separate records.
